As a little girl I witnessed the potential ballet class had, when my mother took me to see The Nutcracker. The live music and the exotic world unveiled on the stage transfixed me. From that day on, what I wanted to be when I grew up was a ballerina in The Nutcracker.
Plays, concerts, and shows hold great power.
- They can transport us.
- They can inspire us.
- They can help us access our emotions.
- They can expose us to new and foreign things.
This is our nations holiday season. This is the time of year when I am giddy at the spirit I feel and witness. One of the ways I build this Christmas Spirit, is by going to shows that revolve around and resonate with the Christmas Spirit.
These concerts bring a smile to my face (which we know as a sure-fire sign we’re experiencing happiness), provides an opportunity to see and spend time with family, and it’s a moment in time where we connect.
No matter the season, or your beliefs- theatre and concerts open up the world to us.
These moments where we are connected to the production, the people, and the audience, they have the potential to unleash deep emotions within us.
