August is marked by fire energy. Where Phoenix teaches us to walk through these flames – where the burn of truth will create ash of lies.
To navigate the month, we are reminded of the year’s advice – the Tortoise and the Hare – to temper actions with wisdom. Hare would run and jump around the flames – avoiding them. (Hare is a teacher like all totems, sometimes what to do and sometimes what not to do.) Tortoise on the other hand, walks in wisdom. To learn what has turned to ash and what is true and therefore safe from the flames.
To witness the truth requires the capacity to look within and be accountable to the gifts of life. That we are indeed free and that our freedom means we are responsible for our own choices.
Illusion and delusion are the greatest tools of false-protection. For they strip people of the power to say anything which will alter things for a balanced world. The individuals’ false-truth violates the cosmic truth of interconnectedness. For example – The sexist people used women’s voices for justice as signs of hysteria. No matter how loud or calm they spoke. Anything could be twisted as “proof.” The personal delusion violating a person’s right to be heard or seen.
From social constructs to mental illness like schizophrenia, it is all about personal safety. A coping mechanism which offers up an adaptation to a systemic problem in their reality. To make life bearable or be able to operate how they want in order to feel safe. Yet, this radical individualism radiates and harms others because illusions and the delusions aren’t what’s real. They can’t be shared honestly, nor can co-creation and cooperation exist.
So, why cope? Why engage in false-protection? Because people feel they must endure what is, because they can’t change what is. Or they get so caught up with themselves they are okay with others being in danger if it means they get what they want. Or because to fix the heart of the problem means truly doing the work to heal the wounds of society. For some, false safety is seen as a better option than asking – How do we design and build a world that can be truly safe?
August is a trial by fire. The hare jumps to escape. Tortoise teaches us to observe and learn what is flame of truth and what is chalky ask of lie. While phoenix walks hand in hand with us, guiding our way.
Humans are a product of reality. Manifested by Creation and the intention of our soul to incarnate. We are made real. Therefore, we are at our essence a vibration of truth. Now we can dress ourselves up in rags or finery – obscuring inherent truths like worth. Yet we won’t burn. The fire will only strip away the lies.
The truth might seem scary. Yet we can only build anything worth keeping with what is real. When we pass through the flames of the world or within our own healing – what is to be found underneath the soot is the intrinsic truths of Creation…
– Spirit loves each of us unconditionally.
– We are inherently worthy.
– We are gifted the treasure of liberty.
– We are not alone.
– We are connected.
And to quote Dr. Seuss, ”Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Any messages we witness which violate the Mandates of Heaven with regards to love, worth, or liberty – are talking ash. We have no need to fear the fiery energy of the month, because this energy is designed by a Creator who loves us.
The recommendation for this month is to walk the flames. They will expose the lies of others and the cracks within our foundations. Anything found missing can then be addressed for healing, learning, and strengthening. Why- to strengthen the bonds of connection and burn the karmic ties no longer relevant to us.
As I said, we can only build anything worth keeping with what is true. We can only heal what we know is wounded. We can only connect heart-to-heart when the falsehoods which stand between us are burnt away. The flames of our month are here to liberate us from what isn’t working and shine a light upon what needs help. Because while the illusion of safety might seem appealing, true connection and true safety are where true prosperity takes places.
