So often it is said, we are living within a world of gray. Where things fall on a sliding scale. But what is it when it is not one (white) or the other (black), but also not undefined (gray)? …. Color.
Each color is – exhibiting its own intrinsic nature and qualities. June’s energy exhibits the energetic quality of being “that which is.” A settled energy – not at war with itself. Rather than self-rejection, we find acceptance and an embrace.
To describe this month’s energy, my spirit guides began with a color: burnt star dust, a sienna color. Reminiscent of sand and flame.
We cannot alter this color to make it other – to do so would bring it into a burned blackness. For the color to remain, you cannot push it to be otherwise or else it becomes broke and weakened. If you imagine the sienna orange as paint, to add black or white would break the strength of the color.
Which brings us to the energetic properties of this month’s energy – “What is, must be.”
Like our Sacral Chakra (found below our navel) – this orange energy connects with creativity and expression. To better understand this energy and color, think of an artist. As they paint or compose – they are aligning with a thought, statement, feeling, etc. It may be poor or precise, muddled or clear – yet it is.
Akin to our Sacral Chakra – this is a step past existing and survival (Root Chakra), and stepping up into being and living. Permission to exist, elevated to acceptance of our personal life and voice. Acceptance of not only our own life, but the unique life of others. Each of us a color, an expression of the human experience.
On a personal level, the month’s experience is dependent upon…
• how you feel about yourself – Can you accept yourself as you are? Where you are?
• your acceptance of what is outside of your control – Can you allow others to be the color they are?
• your level of faith – To trust that, what is in the world (no matter how confusing) serves Spirit and ALL of Creation in some way.
Are you alright being right where you are? To see the journey. For if you are upon the path that will enable you to build your life, achieve that goal, or support that healing – to thus, accept and enjoy your life, even before you reach the destination.
To accept “that which is” today and each day of your life’s journey. Even as things are changing, you are choosing to accept and embrace. To know peace and harmony on the journey – the process of your life.
Within the Path of Happiness technique (Volume II: A Heart-Centered Life), we are introduced to a method that guides us as we engage in life and our healing journey. The core idea being that we wish to make happiness more than a temporary destination. Why travel to pit-stops of happiness, when we can create the journey of life into one of joy?
June’s collective energy taps into energy about accepting what is.
Within many societies there is a message of violence. We are taught to “fight” and “battle”: illness, injustice, prejudice, and more. All of which is an act of destruction, not healing. Instead of bringing healing to a personal wound or a wound within society – we are told to destroy it. But we cannot destroy a wound or problem, we can only bury it. Then we deny it, disown it, and create what Carl Jung calls our shadow. It still exists, still impacts us (now in unseen/subconscious ways), and we carry it with us.
The release, resolution, or moving past: the peace and harmony we seek comes through healing. Healing begins by accepting what is. To voice the wound and to see it. Like the Path of Happiness there are key components involved.
For the Path of Happiness Key 1 is: know yourself – how can you experience happiness if you don’t know what brings you happiness? In this instance, Key 1 is: see the truth of yourself and what is around you (not through destruction but rather compassion). You cannot effectively impact life until you accept what you face. Be it a wound within yourself or maybe a strength. A wound or strength within others, too.
In the Path of Happiness, Key 2 is: Love yourself – to provide you the strength to go after your happiness. Here, we can expand that love and add free-will. When we view ourselves and others, the first thing is to see it truly. The second step is to adopt the intention of love, so that we align with healing and not destruction. Only then can we safely choose; to impact change, go in a new direction, or even confront something. As a result, we are not acting in rejection now, we are acting aligned with transformation. Able to experience that relief, resolution, and thus, harmony and happiness.
The distinction is essential to how we experience the moment. As you go about the month, you will encounter truths about yourself and others. If we immediately go to rejection behavior, it is limiting or hurtful. We are sending the message that we deny people the right to be themselves (their color) and we also can send ourselves the message that this part of ourselves is unlovable. We do damage. But if we first accept and through curiosity learn, we can now be healing and create positive change.
The final Key with the Path of Happiness holds true here as well: spiritual connection. We do not walk alone. We also do not understand ALL things. Therefore, we can sometimes find it very difficult to accept where we are in our life’s journey (especially if we aren’t where we wish to be). Or maybe we find it hard to accept the choices another person is making – especially if we are close to them or they hold a position of power and authority.
If we look at life through the lens of human, we might become depressed. But if we add the lens of Spirit, Mother Earth, Father Nature, and a cosmic plan – we can acknowledge that we might not know everything, but we can still safely accept what is.
When we accept, we stop fighting, become empowered and aware, can thus begin to impart change, healing, and experience serenity from within. As we journey through our month and through this process we know as the human experience.
