At the stroke of midnight, December starts. Each new month brings with it many things. Such as monthly cleaning, new bills to pay, and new energy. This new energy is personal and global.

Numerology is one of the ways we can discover what new energy is swirling around us.
What is numerology:
Numerology is a tool that analyzes the energy around you by utilizing numbers. These calculations can provide insight into your personality (with the Seven Major Personality Numbers) or you can calculate to find what type of energy is impacting your day, month, and year.
We each have personal energy for our days, months, and years. We also have a Universal number. At the start of a new month, energy shifts on a global level. When we choose to learn and become in-tune with this shift and new energy we can make conscious decisions about our life, while taking into account this new information.
The Universal Year:
- Calculate.
To calculate a Universal Year, you add up the digits in the current year to a single digit.

- Research.
Once you learn what the Universal Year Number is, you then need to learn what the quality of the number is.

This year has been about creating new things, manifesting dreams, and strength in communication. Due to the fun and playful energy as well, work may have been a push or impulsivity may have tripped you up a time or two. Since this month is that last one in 2019, you might find the energy shifting to transition into this coming year.

Just like the Universal Year, we need to learn the quality of a Universal 6 Month in order to best navigate the energies swirling around us.

- Balancing the demands and needs of the self with the needs of others
- If a promotion or job is offered- there may be a lot of responsibility tied to it
- Family can be nosy or overstep their boundaries
- Things said could be taken personally
- Disruptions can have a domino effect, so watching out for undue stress and anger is advised. As is balance between the pull of family and friends, and the needs of self.
This month is a time where family and our community take precedence. This may mean spending more time with family, helping out in tough situations, or needing to have heart-to-heart conversations.
As you start this new month consider the energy of the universe. We are connected and this connection can mean we send out a ripple of healing and love, or destruction and hate.
As a side note- don’t get too caught up with what number year or month it is universally. These energies do impact us, and they are important to be aware of, but they do not dictate our reality. Their influence, is only that influence. You have the ability to promote the positive energies and stall and block the negative ones- for the best possible month and year for you.

Christmas Activity:
A fun activity to do with children is to create a paper chain, to count down to Christmas. Then each day tear one of the rings off the chain. You create a Christmas chain by cutting strips of green and red paper. Then loop a strip and staple it together. Then string a second loop and staple. Repeat this process until 24 rings create a chain. This is a great activity for kids, not only do they get to practice fine motor skills by cutting paper, but you are also teaching numbers and number relations.
