Tradition: “an inherited, established, or customary pattern of thought, action, or behavior (such as a religious practice or a social custom).”
~Webster’s Dictionary
We have traditions as a nation, as a culture, as a family, and as individuals.
Traditions for:
- How we celebrate holidays.
- How we think.
- How we act & react.
Traditions are part of who we are. They color our world, connect us to our past and future, and create a safety net as we live our life.
When traditions are healthy and relevant, they’re great. But when traditions are dysfunctional and dated, we run the risk of introducing poison into our life at the foundation.
As you start a new month and a new holiday season, you have an opportunity to create a happy reality.
The way we do this is to de-clutter. We de-clutter our schedule, so we have time for hobbies, self-love, self-connection, and familial connection. We also de-clutter our traditions.
Keep the ones that promote Your Path of Happiness. Ditch the ones that pull you into the past and are no-longer good for you. And create new ones to promote the Christmas Spirit, happiness, and connect you to your family and friends.
Traditions Check List:
- Does this tradition bring me joy?
- Is this tradition in keeping with my new healthy path?
This month is new, fresh with possibilities. You have the power to manifest a reality of your choice. Just because you’ve done something every year, does not imprison you to do the same this year.
In creating a Path of Happiness you have the freedom to craft the life you desire. Release the traditions of the toxic past and create a new foundation free of poison.
