When you live your life honoring the various elements that influence and co-create your environment, you can manifest a prosperous life for yourself. These elements include but are not limited to the Universe’s energy, Spirit’s energy, our personal energy, yearly, monthly, and daily energy, and Mother Earth’s energy.
Together, we create an energy dynamic in our lives. These multiple layers of energy comingle to create our environment. In Feng Shui this comingling is explained by Heaven energy, Earth energy, and Man energy. These three forms of energy influence our home and the ultimate potential and end result.
Even when the Earth energy or more specifically the energy swirling within and around a home is negative, our Man energy or individual energy as a person can positively impact our environment.
But even when we honor the phases of the moon, consider our daily, monthly, and yearly energy discovered with tools like astrology and numerology, and even if we as individuals keep our energy balanced and healthy- mishaps happen.
Recently, I have been experiencing mishaps left and right. There have been minor injuries, broken objects, a flat tire, and most recently a filled mug of coffee spilled onto the couch. When you live in harmony these strange and destructive occurrences can test you.
Due to my personal mishaps, it was suggested that I include an article as we count our way down to Christmas, addressing the errors, mistakes, and problems that can happen.
Many of the goofs I have recently experienced have not been avoidable. I wasn’t rushing, inattentive, or embodying destructive energy. They happened, before I could even register what would come, it was over. Then I was either sweeping up broken glass or running for the towels.
Mishaps:
In life things happen. Sometimes we cannot foresee them, stop them, or change what has just happened. As we begin to live our lives more harmoniously and in balance with life, or if we make plans for things like a holiday it can be hard to process and accept the mishaps inherent to life.
Today I would like to remind you that things happen. That there isn’t a villain or person responsible. Sometimes things get bumped and they fall- it is not foreseeable or planned, but yet it still happens.
If like me, you experience a mishap that puts a bump in your harmony or alters your holiday plans, remember that while these things were not in your power to stop, you still have power over how you respond.
Moments like these can be reminders of the wonderful life we have. In this instance duality (destruction) is pointing out the contrast so you can better see the blessings in your life.
Other times it can be a lesson or a reminder of patience, compassion, forgiveness, and acceptance.
I know that as a host or hostess of a family gathering, we want it to be a success. We plan the company, the food, and during the event look to make sure that everyone’s needs are taken care of. Yet, life happens.
If you choose to respond aggressively, self-pityingly, or accuse someone or something you write that moment. You set the tone for what follows and how others respond.
It’s like a public speech.
When I took public speaking one of our lectures was about the mishaps that can happen during a public speech. Someone might sneeze, really loudly, or a baby might cry. Someone might even call out. In any of these instances it is the speaker’s choice what follows.
While the interruption or mishap was outside of their control, they set the tone and approach to not only the next moment but what follows. The speaker can acknowledge what has happened, such as saying “bless you” or they can merely carry on. The listeners and observers of the speaker will follow.
Should you encounter any mishaps this holiday season or into next year, remember that you can choose what follows. If there will be needless aggression and accusation. Or if you will utilize your Man energy to return the environment to one of harmony through acceptance, compassion, and maybe even self-forgiveness.
As Frank Sinatra said, “That’s Life.”
Merry Christmas Chickadee and may your days be filled with harmony!
